Echoes of Our Dying World
Jeffy had dreamed of this moment for years — returning to Earth with his beloved wife Gilla and their newborn, Blip Junior, to show them the planet he had left behind six years ago. He had told Gilla everything: his parents, his brother, the world he once called home.
Nothing could have prepared him for what he found.
A red cloud hung over the Earth like a wound. The continents and oceans bore the scars of the Reptilian assault — but what replaced the destruction was somehow worse. Earth had fallen back into its old ways. Fossil fuel factories choked the skies with toxins. War, hate, greed, and dictatorship had reclaimed the planet. And a new presence walked among the people — robots called Feelings, cold and calculating, embedded into a dying civilization.
The alien team sent to help rebuild Earth had been silenced. The dream of a pure, restored world had been extinguished.
Gilla, fearful for herself and her child on this crumbling planet, urged Jeffy's family — his aged mother Mary and his father Jeff — to leave with them. There was no time to debate. A secret plan was made, and in a breathless moment, they slipped through an open timeline and onto the ship.
As the vessel lifted high above the Earth, Jeffy pressed his face to the viewport. Below him, fires raged, floods swallowed the land, and dark clouds billowed into a poisoned sky. His heart broke with every mile of distance.
But he prayed. Prayed that one day, he would return — and save the world he could never stop loving.
